about

This track represents the idea underlying the whole album "Prequel": this is the absolute beginning.

More specifically, the story behind this track is the story of the creation of our world.

I imagined a violent war that took place a long time before our era, and opposing different alien species. This conflict led to an unprecedented cataclysm: the Big Bang.
Faced with the scale of this disaster, the different parties agreed to make peace, and as a symbol of it, they allowed life to take place on our planet, making them our ancestors in a way.

The first half of "Prequel" features many different riffs, odd time signatures, polyrhythms... This is the violence of the alien conflict and the chaos from which our world will be born.

The track becomes more and more structured and progressively leads to this smooth fusion passage which represents the decision of Peace and the creation of Life.

Then, although the Outro is more structured, we're back on a more violent basis as our planet is still forming itself through chaos. This also underlines the propensity for violence we inherited from our alien ancestors.

lyrics

They came from the bottom of the Universe,
Prepared for War.
First page of the story that bounds us
to our Mothers Stars.

Born from Space Creation,
Led to Earth' Conception.
Their armies enlightened space
In a soundless ballet of flames…
