about

Mind Control Facility is a Djent-influenced, rhythmically driven track involving electronic virtual instruments.

This track is inspired from a video-game called "The Stanley Parable".

This is a very simple and straightforward game where you play the part of Stanley, who's a basic corporate employee, and on a strange day you move around the building where he works while being guided by a narrative voice that tells the story at the same time.

So here's the thing: do you listen to the voice or not? Do you do what it tells you to do? It's all about choices you make.

And at some point there's actually a "Mind Control Facility" in the game.

You may have guessed already, this track is about Freedom. It's about making your own choices, and dealing with the consequences.

The electronic environment, rhythmic displacements, and harsh distortion guitars, are picturing a kinda synthetic world where we're all trapped in, and in which it's hard to stand out.

There's always something holding us back, whether it's:
- laws
- social conventions
- self image
- money...

And in order for us to break free we have to make our own personal choices!

The long guitar solo on the middle section after the bridge starts with very short, almost unfinished phrases, and becomes more and more melodic throughout this section: it depicts the growing desire for Freedom inside of us.

Then in the end the guitar solo continues over the last chorus, emphasizing the everlasting fight between our desire for Freedom and this overwhelming world we live in.
